Southern regions of Ukraine differ not only with climate and tourist features. This multinational region has formed its own incomparable culinary traditions. Since the moment of uniting of left-coast and right-coast parts of the territory of Ukraine into one country, products and meal names in different regions have become one and almost indistinguishable from each other.
About 120 nationalities live in Odessa region according to official data, respectively, each ethnic group had played its role in forming culinary traditions. For example, culinary recipes have plenty of elements from Greek and French kitchen. Also there are traditions of Italian, Armenian and Jewish cooks. There are even Tatar and Turkish recipes. Thus, Southern region of Ukraine had formed perfect conditions for gastronomic tourism.
Fish meals have special treatment in local culinary. Southern regions of the country are rich for water resources: coast of the Black Sea, Danube river, Dniester, Southern Bug. Also there are plenty of lakes, estuaries here, that are rich for its fish variety. All this means that local people are good judges for sea, river fish and can make lots of things with it (bake, dry etc)... They can cook a true culinary masterpiece out of any kind of fish.
There is a judgment that cooks from Southern Ukraine can highlight any kind of widespread meals. There is only one secret in their success: cooking bears no hurry. After all, preparing of tasty meals – it is a special show that require lots of time and collecting many fans.
Today district is one of the biggest (4,5% of region territory). It directly adjoins to the region center borders from one side and to the Republic of Moldova from the other. Also, the district's territory borders with Razdelnyansky, Ovidiopolsky, Ivanivsky, Kominternovsky disticts.
Besides Dniester, Baraboy river flows through the Belyaevsky district territory. Hadzibey and Dnistrovsky estuaries are important to be distinguished from water resources of the district.
